A poem
“When I am in School”
04.09.12
When I am in school, I hate my life
When I am in school, I want to make art that is not the art I am assigned to make
When I am in school, I get bored, tired
I loose all my motivation
I am uninspired
I feel trapped
When I am in school, I want to give up and leave
When I am in school, I procrastinate and dread each class
When I am in school, I am missing opportunities
When I am no longer a student, I will be free.
On May 8th, I will no longer be a fool.
School is for fools
Timeworkdiscipline&industrialcapitalism
Time, Work-Discipline, and Industrial Capitalism was a difficult read. The justification used throughout the writing was very distracting and made reading difficult material a tedious effort. Alongside the distasteful justification, the constant changing of type size and italicization turned each page into an eyesore and confusing maze of information. The whole work was riddled with quotes(many of which were not in modern english or were poetic). I do not think our regimented time structure in modern America causes severe problems, because we choose our career paths and ultimately can live how we want. More importantly, I think the time structure cannot be changed at this point without completely uprooting the country. The giant corporations cannot be ran any other way, and without them America will loose far too much money and jobs. Overall I did not understand the writing, its purpose, or its impact.
